Heather Novak

Bio:

Young Adult and New Adult author Heather Novak is in an open relationship…with the love of her life and the fictional characters in her head. After deciding her expensive film/screenwriting degree from Wayne State University should be used to make the world smile, she started writing Happily Ever Afters with a preternatural twist! (Don’t worry, she had to look up that word, too). Focusing on powerful imagery and emotional storytelling – you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll laugh so hard you’ll cry.

Heather resides in Metro Detroit with the love of her life and several imaginary (and hypoallergenic) pets. She strongly supports the use of sarcasm and the Oxford Comma.

Heather is a featured author in the highly anticipated feature, seen below.

Heather is a really kool kat that I’ve gotten to know a little bit through Facebook and Twitter. Recently she agreed to an interview. Here it is now.

Enjoy,

Me: What is your favorite word?

Heather: “Courage” – courage is the structure in which all love and kindness and dreams are born. You need courage to open yourself up to failure, courage to be kind to others, courage to follow your dreams. It’s easy to be cruel, especially through social media. Courage is what will change the world.

Me: What is your least favorite word?

Heather: “Panties” – oh, I know. It’s the weirdest choice for a romance writer. But next to “moist,” it’s my least favorite. I don’t need some special name for my underwear, thanks.

Me: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?

Heather: Things I can lose myself in – music, especially lyrics. Dancing, especially contemporary. Well done movies. Once immersed in a world, I come out the other side changed.

Me: What turns you off?

Heather: Blatant stupidity. People who have no desire to learn about the world outside of themselves. Cruelty. Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

^…. GREATEST ANSWER EVER!

Me: What is your favorite curse word?

Heather: Shitwaffle

Me: What sound or noise do you love?

Heather: Violin and piano.

Me: What sound or noise do you hate?

Heather: The sound of someone clipping their nails. *Shudder*

Me: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?

Heather: In my high school and college days, I was an award winning screenwriter/director and an internationally ranked theater organist. I would love to be a film director, score supervisor, or in a band.

Me: What profession would you not like to do?

Heather: I used to be in health care, and never again. I would never be a pharmacist. And I’m far to germaphobic to do any kind of sanitation/cleaning services.

Me: If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Heather: Library is on the third cloud to the left, next to the Cinnabon, Buddy’s Pizza, and ice cream shop. Your family and friends are waiting! (note: I’m allergic to dairy and gluten intolerant, so I dream of eating things again)
