Along with being the Director Plaisted Publishing House she is also and author.
A rather talented one as well.
Here are the covers for her many books.
And here’s a book she published under her pseudonym Beth Bayley
Saying Claire Plaisted is talented is an understatement.
Recently Claire was gracious enough to answer a few interview questions for me.
Me: What is your favorite word?
Claire: I dont’ have one favourite word. I have many. Politeness is a must in life
as is positivity to those around you. I Have a favourite saying.
“If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything at all!”
Me: What is your least favorite word?
Claire: I dislike most negative words, they are really not needed. The one
which jar’s the most is STUPID – No body is STUPID ever, they may be daft, idiotic
but not STUPID.
Me: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Claire: I have no idea at all. I love my family and seeing them happy. I love to
chat with friends, toss idea’s about when I am writing with people. I love to
help others and have done a lot of voluntary work over the years. I write about
things I think may interest others. I create for others, to see smiles and
happiness makes me happy.
Me: What turns you off?
Claire: People using the F Word as every second word. I dislike swearing
and though I use it in my books it is different hearing it. Makes me
cringe especially when there are millions of good words a person
could use, the worst though is seeing little children use the F**K word.
I also totallydislike negative people and users.
Me: What is your favorite curse word?
Claire: Bugger must be a favourite swear word. Here in New Zealand we had this really
fantastic Advert for Toyota cars. Funny as.
Me: What sound or noise do you love?
Claire: Hearing rain on the tin roof. Though it doesn’t happen often, unless it gets really
loud due to my deafness. I don’t always wear my hearing aids.
Me: What sound or noise do you hate?
Claire: Rather than a noise I dislike it is more a time I dislike. Ok so I’m deaf, however
been woken very early on a Sunday by a garage sale, lawnmower or
someone with a electric saw, really peeves me off. Luckily we don’t get overly
loud parties where we live now, though have in the past.
Me: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Claire: I have been through so many professions now I don’t think I want to try
anything else. This is me now. Author and Publisher – oh and Family
History Researcher. If i went back to my teens I would have taken computing
and become a Computer Nerd. I loved them, sadly my parents thought
it was just a FAD…oopps
Me: What profession would you not like to do?
Claire: Working underground in any shape or form or anywhere that is enclosed
I have a small problem with enclosed spaces, especially cars after accidently
being locked in one.
Me: If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive
at the Pearly Gates?
Claire: It’s not your time yet, go back and keep helping those who need you.
Great answers. Insightful and interesting.
