Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1951, Tom Fallwell spent much of his career as a software developer and programmer. Now retired from that field, he has taken up writing, which he had always loved to do, but did not have the time to indulge himself in. Now he is writing the stories he had always wanted to write.
Still living in Oklahoma, Tom is active in church, running the sound system and sometimes teaching adult Sunday School. He has always had a love of fantasy and science fiction, both in reading and in movies. His love of story telling came as a result of playing table top role playing games with friends, in which he created adventures for the other players to experience.
Recently Tom answered a few interview questions of mine. Here is the interview.
Me: What is your favorite word?
Tom: Legendary. I thoroughly enjoy legends and lore, both non-fiction and fiction.
Me: What is your least favorite word?
Tom: Emaciated, because for some odd reason I keep typing it as emancipated. It is really amusing how that turns out when writing a novel sometimes. Thank goodness for editors.
Me: What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?
Tom: There is only one thing that I can accredited my creativity, spirituality and emotional stability to, and that is Jesus Christ. I love reading and enjoy conversations about God and the Bible. I sit down to write and it just seems to flow out of me, and that is His power, not mine.
Me: What turns you off?
Tom: Ego. I find it hard to relate to people with tremendous egos. Humility is a great thing.
Me: What is your favorite curse word?
Tom: I do not use curse words.
Me: What sound or noise do you love?
Tom: Music. Lots of different kinds.
Me: What sound or noise do you hate?
Tom: Many people trying to speak at once.
Me: What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Tom: My original profession was software development, and I always wanted to write. So, now I am writing and very satisfied with where I am.
Me: What profession would you not like to do?
Tom: Street cleaner in New York City, following behind the mounted police.
Me:If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
Tom: Well done, my good and faithful servant.
